Study Revelation!

Jan 15th, 2010 by Mike | 0

The book of Revelation is perhaps the most misunderstood–and misused–of all the biblical writings. So … let’s learn about it! Grace Church is starting a new Bible study on the book of Revelation. Participants will learn about the mindset, thought process, theological and historical background of the people for whom this writing was made. By looking at Revelation through this filter of information, we’ll seek to gain a new understanding of the message this very special literary form delivers.

The study will last for 1 hour each week for 16 weeks on Sunday mornings, and 1 1/2 hours each week for 8 weeks on Tuesday evenings. We will view video lectures by Dr. Mickey Efird, professor at Duke Divinity School, teacher of new pastors for over 40 years, and author of 13 books. All those credentials may sound intimidating, but Mickey is best known for the warm, insightful, and humorous Bible studies he has conducted in churches of all denominations for thousands of Christians. This master teacher will help us gain new insights about Revelation!

The study will take place twice each week: Tuesday evenings, beginning Jan. 17 at 7 pm, and Sunday mornings beginning Jan 24 at 9:45 am. Each session will include a lecture by Dr. Efird, followed by group discussion.
Dr. Efird’s Bible studies have been a blessing to thousands and will bless you also. For more details or to sign up, talk with Linda Kessie (923-8244) or call the church office (442-5944). Classes start on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 7 pm, and Sunday Jan. 24 at 9:45 am.
