- January 2, Sunday, 11 AM. Epiphany Sunday Worship Service followed by the Epiphany Party covered dish luncheon.
- January 13, Thursday, 5 – 7 AM. Feed My People Mission. Help prepare and serve breakfast to the homeless with volunteer group from Grace UMC  at First UMC Family Life Center (13th Street & Lavaca). Talk to Rev. Kessie, or just show up at 5 AM at the First UMC Family Life and sign in as volunteer. You will be directed to the kitchen.
- January 16, Sunday, Noon (after worship service), Lent/Easter Planning Team meeting in Fellowship Hall. Chester Eitze is leading this team. If you volunteered for ths team during our ‘Ministry For All’ survey, or even if not, if you would like to help with the worship services and other activities during the Lenten Season up to and including Easter and Bright Sunday, please attend ths meeting, or let Chester know you want ot help.
- January 20, Thursday, 7 PM. Administrative Council Meeting in Fellowship Hall.
- January 22, 9 AM – 2:30 PM. ‘Rethink Leadership’, UMC District’s training for all elected UMC church leaders. This workshop will be held at Westlake UMC, 1460 Red Bud Trail. All 2011 (new or returning) church officers at Grace UMC are encouraged to attend this workshop.
- Beginning on January 25, Tuesday evenings at 7 PM. Disciple Bible Study III : Remember Who You Are. This 26-week study will concentrate on Old Testament prophets, and the 13 letters in the New Testament that are attributed to the Apostle Paul. Participants will need a study manual (cost $35). Please contact Rev. Kessie (512.442.5944; gracepastor@yahoo.com) or the church office to register for the class and order a study manual. The class will meet in the library in the church office building.
- January 26 - March 2, Wednesday Evenings at 7:15 PM. Spring Bible Study, entitled ‘Is This All There Is? And Other Big Questions About God And Life.’ The 6-week (or so) study will meet in the Library in the Church Office building. Bill Stone is leading the class. Sign-up sheets are available at church or just contact Bill (lpcbear@gmail.com).
- January 30, Sunday, 11 AM. The Pecan Street Brass Quintet will enhance the worship service. The service will be followed at noon by our traditional Fifth Sunday covered dish luncheon after the service. Whether or not you bring something for the dinner, please join us for a delicious meal and fellowship.
- Dinners For 8 Sign-Up sheets will appear soon in church. We’ll be planning for monthly small group dinners to occur this spring in March, April and May! If you sign up, you’ll be randomly assigned to a different group each month. Couples or families or friends can sign up together to ensure that they will be assigned to the same group together every month. This is a great way to meet and get to know the folks you meet in church.
