About the church:
Good Sam is a âcorporate sizeâ church with three Sunday services – Rite I, Rite II and a contemporary service. We seek to build a strong community within the church, as we worship together, are transformed by Christ to love our neighbors better and grow in the knowledge of God with various small groups, Bible study groups and classes. Sunday school. The church is committed to being a transformative presence in our community. We have evangelistic programs such as Alpha, our Food Closet ministry, and many other partnerships with local, national and international mission groups. Additionally, when there is no pandemic, we offer lay-on-hands prayer by lay prayer teams during Sunday services, hold monthly healing services, and invite each parishioner to receive a healing prayer on a quarterly basis. during Sunday services immediately after Communion. The person we are looking for:
- Believes in the scriptures and in the transforming power of the Holy Ghost.
- Is able to identify, recruit, train, equip and empower lay leaders within the congregation.
- Proven in enabling and seeing lay people grow in spiritual maturity, gifts and ministry capacity.
- Is comfortable communicating with a wide variety of people.
- Is a competent preacher and teacher and has excellent communication skills.
In addition to sharing the regular responsibilities of the clergy, we are looking for someone who will help us connect members within the life of the church. You will be concerned with the health of our congregation and the processes by which people become part of the life of the parish and grow in service, faith and love. The followers of Jesus you help develop will be known for their love for one another and for their attitude of service to their families, other church members, and the community at large.
We are open to a new or seasoned priest. The particular division of responsibilities with which you will help shape our culture and fulfill the mission described here is flexible and will depend on your skills, disposition and humility.
