CHURCH NEWS

Lower Creek Baptist Church will host a concert and evening with Janet and Sharon Hayes on Sunday, October 17 at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Miller Hill Baptist Church, Lenoir has 12 plastic / metal small children’s classroom chairs to offer. If you are interested, contact the church at 828-758-4550 Tuesday through Thursday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The Association is working with Lakeview Baptist Church and NC Baptists on Mission to help with the 2021 Appalachian Coalfields Ministry. The statewide goal is to collect 18,000 backpacks to distribute to children in Appalachia by the end of November and December of this year. The Caldwell Baptist Association has been made aware of a possible phone call scam targeting churches. The caller uses the name BB Media to sell Booster Club packs for schools. Be careful if you receive such a call.

COMMUNITY NEWS

Yokefellow’s 5th Annual Empty Bowls COVID Safe Outdoor Event will be held on Saturday, October 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and you can visit Yokefellow’s new facility at 202 Harper Avenue in Lenoir anytime. For more information, click on the connect.

Hope4NC is a free and confidential statewide program funded by FEMA and NCDHHS, currently helping those affected by the impact of the COVID crisis. There is a 24/7 helpline offering emotional support and referrals to local services. Call or text “hope” at 1 855 587-3463. Samaritan’s Purse is now hiring seasonal workers. The first and second shifts are available from mid-November to mid-December at their regional Operation Christmas Child shoebox centers. Click on the connect to apply.

Foothills Service Project is looking for people over 60 in Caldwell County who need a ramp, porch or patio repairs, rescue chair, grab bars or a hand shower. They are also in desperate need of groups of volunteers to help with these projects. They will be happy to make a presentation for a church, group or organization. The Focus on Prayer Praying Together, Going Together began on January 9, 2021. There is still time to register and pray for the unsaved in Caldwell County. There are 250 pockets of loss in North Carolina. Three of the pockets are in Caldwell County. A pocket of loss is where a high concentration of unchurched and unsaved people live. This accent encourages people to take a prayer walk or a prayer walk through your community on the day of your choice.
