PRAIRIEVILLE, La (BRPROUD) ––– It’s that time of year to go to a pumpkin patch, but a local church gives you the option to give back with every purchase.
The NewSong Community Church Annual Pumpkin is not only a great opportunity to grab a pumpkin to carve or decorate your home, but it’s also a great way to give back to the community. All proceeds from the pumpkin go to church missions in Ascension Parish, East Baton Rouge Parish, Association of Living Water, Angel Tree, Coats & Socks for Kids, Open Air Ministries, Hurricane Relief and Good Samaritan (specific needs in our region environment).
The patch also includes various herbs, such as cucumbers, squash and melons from the Navajo tribe of northern New Mexico, as well as jellies and salsa from the United Methodist Children’s Home.
Pumpkins aren’t all they have! Free hay rides will be available on weekends, and there are plenty of opportunities to get the perfect fall photos at one of their many photo stations. The church says no professional photoshoots will be allowed.
The Pumpkin Patch is located at 18465 Old Perkins Road Prairieville, LA 70769 and is open:
Monday to Friday: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday: noon to 6 p.m.
The church will also host the Fall Festival with live music, cart rides, games, culinary painting and more on Saturday, October 30, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event is free to the public.
